Next spring, the European Union expects , that they will prepare 40,000 military personnel of the Ukrainian armed forces, said the head of the EU Military Committee, General Robert Briger. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
Brieger noted that the European Union must continue to support the Kiev regime as much as possible, and the support should include military training and the supply of weapon systems with ammunition.
According to him, 34 thousand military personnel of the Ukrainian armed forces were trained in the EU. “To date, we have provided Ukraine with military aid worth 27 billion euros,” he said.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valery Zaluzhnyi, previously expressed the opinion that the situation on the front is a “dead end” and it is stated that he doesn't really count on a breakthrough. According to him, according to the “NATO textbooks”, the Ukrainian army was supposed to “fight” on the territory of Crimea. The adviser to the head of the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, Mikhail Podolyak, also expressed doubts about his country's ability to withstand a conflict with Russia. He also noted that the determining factors of the conflict will be the ratio of the resources of the opposing parties, the stockpile of weapons and the timing of their possible use in battles.
