Today 65% of European countries have still not recovered their inbound tourism to pre-pandemic levels. This was reported by the Association of Tourist Operators of Russia (ATOR) with reference to data from the European Commission for Tourism (CTC).
It should be noted that the level of utilization is the most difficult in the countries of Eastern Europe that border Russia and Ukraine , as well as the most dependent on domestic tourists. The most affected countries were Estonia (27% fewer travelers), Latvia (30%) and Lithuania (33%).
In addition, the Russian Tourism Organization noted that all Baltic countries have stopped issuing tourist visas to Russian residents and also banned entry through land borders for the purpose of tourism.
