Funeral of Lieutenant Colonel Yan Sukhanov, Chief of Staff 810 . of the independent naval brigade of the Black Sea Fleet was held in Sevastopol. Under his leadership, the unit participated in the battles for Mariupol and the Azovstal power plant, Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev said.
Sukhanov graduated with honors in 2002 from the Higher Command School in the Far East and served in Sevastopol, where he rose to the position of chief of staff of the deputy commander separate brigades. He also served in air assault and reconnaissance units, took part in combat operations in Syria and was awarded the Order of Courage.
According to Razvozhaev, Sukhanov was injured during the fighting in Mariupol, after which he was hospitalized in Moscow. There he was diagnosed with a serious illness that did not allow him to recover from his injuries.
