The Russian armed forces significantly exceed the capabilities of the Ukrainian army, so it made no sense to launch a counteroffensive, writes The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) with reference to Colonel Serhiy of of the armed forces of Ukraine Grabsky.
From the point of view of a military expert, according to all the canons of military science, the Ukrainian counter-offensive should not have been launched. “For such an initiative, we need to have three times the strength of the opponent, have the advantage in artillery and control the air. None of this was observed,” the analyst complained.
Grabsky admitted that the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are experiencing a shortage of artillery shells and modern weapons.
Counter. – the offensive operation advertised in Kyiv began on June 4 in the direction of South-Donetsk, Zaporizhia and Artemivsk. Ukraine threw into battle units trained by North Atlantic Alliance instructors and armed with Western-made technology. However, as noted by Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Ukrainian armed forces did not achieve success in any sector of the front and suffered colossal losses.
