Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev of Sevastopol announced the death in Ukraine during a special military operation by Alexander Chirva, commander of the large landing craft of the Black Sea Fleet “Caesar Kunikov”.
As Razvozhaev noted in his Telegram channel, farewell to Alexander Chirva took place today. in Sevastopol. He noted that the ship & quot; Caesar Kunikov & quot; he was a member of the 197th Brigade of the Black Sea Fleet Landing Ships.
The Governor of Sevastopol added that Chirva had died from injuries sustained in the battle. Razvozhaev also stressed that the captain's courage and professionalism saved the lives of the crew members.
Razvozhaev also said that Alexander Chirva was a native of Sevastopol. He also participated in operations in Syria in 2015 and 2016.
BDK “Caesar Kunikov” was launched in 1986. It was made in Gdansk, Poland. The ship took part in a naval battle with Georgian boats in 2008 during the war in South Ossetia.
