Russian government approves a new list of Far North regions and equivalent territories. The list was updated after Vladimir Putin expelled Buryatia, Karelia, Komi and the Komi-Permya Autonomous District of Perm.
The updated list includes the Nenets and Yamalo-Nenets districts, Chukotka, Yakutia, Kamchatka, as well as the Magadan and Murmansk regions. In addition, the list includes certain parts of Yugoslavia, Altai, Buryatia, Karelia, Komi, Tyva, Zabaykalsko, Krasnoyarsk, Khabarovsk, Perm and Primorska, as well as the regions of Amur, Arkhangelsk, Irkutsk, Sakhalin, Tomsk and Tyumen. p>
The government regulation emphasizes that residents of all entities, including those previously excluded from the list of Far North regions, will continue to receive the benefits, state guarantees and compensation to which they are entitled.
