Editor-in- The head of the Belarusian opposition newspaper “Nasha Niva” Yegor Martinovich was detained by the country's law enforcement agencies. The official representative of the Belarusian Committee of Inquiry informed Ekaterina Garlinskaya about this on Thursday.
According to a representative of the Republic's Committee of Inquiry, information on the possible involvement of Martinovich, as well as three other citizens of the country, in the riots are currently being studied.
The Minsk Investigation Department is investigating criminal proceedings initiated after the mass unrest in the capital of Belarus in 2020. An opposition journalist was detained as part of the investigation into this case.
The investigating authorities also stated that Martinovič complained of poor health during the interrogation. The investigator called an ambulance, which performed the necessary manipulations. There were no further complaints from the detainee, so he continued to be questioned, said a representative of the Minsk Committee of Inquiry.
At the beginning of Thursday, Belarus blocked access to the website of the daily Nasha Niva.
