Sooner or later, the Russian Federation will be ready to negotiate with Ukraine. He believes that the armed forces of the Russian Federation failed to achieve any of the strategic goals. This statement was made by the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CNS) of the US Army, Mark Milley, in an interview with Foreign Affairs.
He also said this at the very beginning of the special operation, the Russian side wanted to advance to the Dnieper in 4-6 weeks. Milley suggested that another of Russia's strategic goals was to “cut off Kiev's access to the Sea of Azov” as well as “destroy Zelensky's government”.
In addition, Miley did not rule out that the conflict would not end this year.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his speech on the occasion of the launch of a special operation in Ukraine, stated that the goal is the demilitarization and denazification of the neighboring country, as well as the protection of the people of Donbass.
