Leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan have started talks in Sochi. The meeting is timed to coincide with the anniversary of the Nagorno-Karabakh peace agreement between Baku and Yerevan, which was signed last November. At the beginning of the meeting, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that all three countries should seek to strengthen ties, not destroy them. He expressed the view that the outcome of the negotiations should be the conditions for the recovery of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pasinjan thanked Russia for participating in the settlement of the conflict. At the same time, he noted that the crisis has not yet been overcome.

President Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said he supported the Russian party's consultative support in establishing the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He expressed his readiness to launch the process.

Later, the heads of Azerbaijan and Armenia will meet in a bilateral meeting. It is scheduled for December 15 and will take place in Brussels.

The situation on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan has worsened in recent weeks. On November 16, the countries signed an armistice, but clashes in the Syunik area continued.
