NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said Ukraine would independently decide on the terms under which it would negotiate and conclude a peace deal, and its allies should continue to support Kyiv. The NATO Secretary General made the corresponding statement before the start of a joint meeting with the defense ministers of the European Union (EU) countries in Brussels, where the protection of underwater infrastructure and Ukraine will be discussed.
According to Stoltenberg, Kiev must decide for itself what the terms are acceptable for negotiation, and more importantly, what terms would be acceptable for an agreement. The Secretary General of the Alliance emphasized that the responsibility of the NATO allies is to support Ukraine.
As Stoltenberg noted, how acceptable the terms of negotiations will be depends directly on the assistance provided to the Ukrainian side by the members of the North Atlantic Alliance.
