NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg with the title “extremely remote” circumstances under which the Alliance could use nuclear weapons. At a press conference after a two-day meeting of the alliance's defense ministers in Brussels, he noted that NATO would remain vigilant and closely monitor Russia's new nuclear exercises.
In addition after that, Stoltenberg noted that in the event of a military conflict, the alliance must follow Article 5, according to which it will protect its partners. However, according to him, Ukraine is not a member of the alliance. In this regard, they will continue to help it there, but “not anymore.”
The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, previously said that a possible nuclear attack on Ukraine would lead to a “powerful military response” from the West, while stressing that it would not be nuclear.
The NATO secretary general had previously said , that the alliance is monitoring Russia's nuclear forces but not seeing any changes.Besides ho said that the alliance will hold planned nuclear deterrence exercises and will not cancel them because of the conflict in Ukraine.
