St. Petersburg authorities confirmed earlier media and telegram channel reports that employees of the military registration and conscription offices and the police began to appear at the entrances of houses. In an interview with RBC, a representative of the city authorities said that these are “alert groups.”

“Since the persons who personally received the summons did not appear at the military commissariat…” – he said source of the publication.

According to him, for this reason, “the summons was issued to them again.”

“The aim is to inform citizens of the necessity to appear,” the official added. “We ask the residents of apartment buildings, to understand in accordance with the decree of the President of the Russian Federation.”

At the same time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg said that the reports that the law enforcement officers handed over the summons as part of the mobilization were not true.
