Chairman of the State Duma Committee of International Affairs Leonid Slutsky said that interstate cooperation with Lithuania could suffer greatly.
On Thursday, the Lithuanian Seimas decided to remove the ambassador from Russia from June 1 and liquidate the consulate general in St. Petersburg from June 7.
“The dismissal of the ambassador is a serious reduction in the level of diplomatic relations. Vilnius has made a clear decision in a hysterical and Russophobic madness,” Slutsky said.
