The German economy is in trouble position, especially because of its dependence on exports, said German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. He noted that the current rate of economic growth is causing dissatisfaction, writes Bloomberg.
The chancellor also opposed increasing the public debt despite the unfavorable situation in the country. He emphasized that he is not sure to what extent this is in the interest of the European Union.
Olaf Scholz reminded that Germany has already increased its national debt by hundreds of billions of euros in recent years to cope with the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and mitigate the effects of anti-Russian sanctions that have led to an increase in energy prices.
