Former President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili claims that he was beaten after being transferred to the Gldani prison clinic from the Rustavi prison. He said this in a letter read by his lawyer, Nika Gvaramia.
According to him, the staff of the prison clinic used force and pulled Saakashvili out of the car. The former Georgian leader was also hit in the neck several times.
“They dragged me by the hair, and of course I resisted them,” the politician explained.
The lawyer added that Saakashvili refused to continue treatment and went on a hunger strike, insisting on a meeting with his doctor.
