Former President Mikhail Saakashvili said to Georgia that he did not want any high positions in the country, he only wanted to live in it and move freely. He wrote about it on his Facebook page.

“I do not want any position, I want to live, I want freedom, the opportunity to move freely in Georgia, among free and happy people,” said Saakashvili, noting that he does not believe the current the government will have mercy. He believes that “only the Georgian people can release him.”

The ex-president also thanked his supporters, who used various types of protests as a show of solidarity.

Saakashvili was detained on October 1. This happened immediately after he returned from Ukraine to Georgia after eight years of emigration. The early release of the former president and his transfer to Ukraine was ruled out by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili. That would mean that the authorities do not respect the laws of the country, he said.
