Working in Russia on the creation of a new mobile ground missile system for Strategic Missile Forces. This was stated by the commander of the Strategic Missile Forces, Colonel General Sergei Karakaev.
“A new mobile ground-based missile system is being developed,” the commander told Krasnaya Zvezda.
The commander did not say what characteristics the new complex would have and what its name would be. Today, the Strategic Missile Forces have the following mobile (mobile ground) complexes. These are the old RS-12M Topol complexes, as well as the modern RS-12M2 Topol-M and RS-24 Yars complexes.
In addition, strategic missile forces include stationary missile systems or silo-based missile systems. These are RS-18 Stiletto, including those with Vanguard warheads, RS-20 Voevoda (Satan according to the Western classification), Topol-M and Yars. A 200-ton Sarmat missile is being developed to replace the old Soviet RS-20 missiles.
