Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of the European Councilor Charles Michel discussed the situation in Afghanistan during a telephone conversation on Wednesday, according to the Kremlin's press service.
“There was a detailed exchange of views on the events in Afghanistan,” the report said.
Putin and Michel emphasized the importance of maintaining civil peace in Afghanistan, preventing violence, and establishing an intergovernmental dialogue to ensure the country's integrity and take into account the interests of its entire population. The Taliban (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation) previously announced the composition of the caretaker government and announced Afghanistan's immediate transition to Sharia law.
