Russian President Vladimir Putin commented on the situation with energy crisis in Europe. According to him, hasty actions of European partners led to him.

At a meeting on energy development, the Russian leader noted that the global energy market does not tolerate “fuss and fuss” and that investment plans are long-term in nature. Therefore, even “harsh and hasty action” leads to serious imbalances. As a result, in 2021, “several adverse factors developed simultaneously in the European energy market”.

The Russian president also said that the practice of European partners in the energy market confirmed that they had made mistakes. He recalled an interview with the European Commission from the previous composition. All its activities were focused on the termination of long-term contracts.

And it was also focused on the transition to trading in exchange gas. But this policy turned out to be bad, Putin said. According to him, “due to the large number of uncertainties, it does not take into account the specifics of the gas market.” He called the year 2021 the time of economic recovery. Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, meanwhile, said Russia was to blame for rising energy prices. In his opinion, “Gazprom” artificially heats the price of gas by “twisting the valve”.

On Wednesday, October 6, the exchange price of natural gas in Europe broke another record. At one point, the cost per thousand cubic meters of fuel exceeded $ 1,900.

Earlier, Putin had spoken of “hysteria and confusion” in Europe and commented on the situation in the European energy market. According to him, “no one takes it seriously, someone speculates on the problems of climate change, someone underestimates something, someone starts to limit investments in the mining industry.”
