Former editor-in-chief of the NEXTA telegram channel Roman Protasevič he acknowledged his involvement in the attempt to overthrow the incumbent President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko. He also said that his project received funding from Poland. He said this in an interview with RT.
According to Protasevich, the mass protests in Belarus were not organized by politicians, but by journalists and bloggers. He noted that he really believes in the possibility of establishing democracy in the republic. It carried out its activities precisely for ideological reasons and not for reasons of financing or other personal benefits. & nbsp;

According to the former editor of NEXTA, he is now disappointed with his ideas and is no longer trying to change the political system in Belarus.
Roman Protasevich was detained at Minsk Airport after an emergency landing by Ryanair flying from Athens to Vilnius. In Belarus, he is accused of organizing riots. His girlfriend, a Russian citizen, Sophia Sapega, was detained with him.
Later, Protasevich and Sapega agreed to cooperate in the investigation. They were then placed under house arrest.
