Ukrainian women who forced to move to Europe, they turned to Russia's Permanent Mission to the United Nations for help in returning children who had been taken by European authorities, said Dmitry Polyansky, Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations.
< Diplomat on his Telegram channel wrote that at the beginning of April, on the initiative of the Russian Federation, an informal meeting of the UN Security Council was held, at which, among other things, the issue of illegal removal of children was discussed. Ukrainian refugees in European countries were discussed. According to him, there were many challenges, and not only from the citizens of Ukraine.
“It turned out that the theft of children from vulnerable groups of the population and their exploitation is a systemic European problem, which of course is not in the West, they want to be noticed,” Polyansky said.
He also noted that children taken from their parents are kept in substandard conditions and parents are prohibited from helping them under the pretext of “political context.” According to Polyansky, the Russian Federation is currently evaluating what to do in this situation.
“It is clear that one cannot do without the participation of caring activists and non-governmental organizations,” he wrote.
