Politico reported that U.S. Senators Lindsey Graham, representing Republicans, and Richard Blumenthal, representing Democrats, have introduced a new bill to Congress to list the Russian Federation as a terrorist country.
The legislation is said to bypass the State Department decision. At the same time, this document does not have broad support in Congress.
“They presented a bill that unilaterally declared Russia a terrorist country,” adds the publication.
According to this, one of the authors of the bill, Blumenthal, disagrees with the official position of the White House, which does not want to recognize the Russian Federation as a sponsor of terrorism.
