Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan he declared that Russia cannot be a guarantor of security for his country. He told Politico.
“Armenia can no longer rely on Moscow as a guarantor of its security, despite growing fears of a resumption of open conflict with Azerbaijan,” Pashinyan said.< /p> < p>He indicated that Russia seeks to maintain relations with Azerbaijan and Turkey during the conflict in Ukraine. Armenia, on the other hand, is trying to “reduce dependence on others as much as possible” and does not want to be at the center of a conflict between North and South, West and East.
Russian President Vladimir Putin previously said that Russia offers Armenia options for 10-15 year settlement of the conflict with Azerbaijan, according to which Armenia could keep Nagorno-Karabakh under its real jurisdiction, but the Armenian side rejected these options.
