The person of the Ombudsman in Russian Federation Tatyana Moskalková commented on the beating of Koran burner Nikita Zhuravel by the son of the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov. The corresponding post was published on her Telegram channel.
Moskalkova condemned the actions of the arrested person and noted that the destruction of sacred books is a “socially dangerous act”. She noted that such behavior provokes “ethnic discord, intolerance and hostility.”
In addition, the ombudsman added that Zhuravel must be held accountable by law for this in court and also during the investigation must be held in pre-trial detention according to the established rules.
