Permanent Representative of Russia The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Alexander Shulgin said that Russia was asking the organization to explain the discrepancies in the dates of sending experts to Germany in connection with the case of Alexei Navalny. He noted that during the 97th session of the OPCW, charges were brought against The Hague in Russia in connection with the poisoning of the leader of the opposition Navalny.
At the same time, according to Shulgin, in preparing the draft report, the Technical Secretariat said that a group of experts had been sent to Germany in connection with Navalny's poisoning on August 20, 2020 … Shulgin noted that Navalny fell ill on a plane on August 20, and it turned out that OPCW inspectors had already headed for Germany on the same day.
“They asked for an explanation of how this was possible,” the Permanent Representative said, adding that the Technical Secretariat had informed the participating states that the inspectors had been sent on 4-5 September.
It should be recalled that Navalny was sent to Germany for treatment on 22 August.
