There were explosions in the city of Zaporizhia controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, TASS reports with reference to the Ukrainian Telegram channels.
The details are not given.
“Explosions (at least two) are temporarily heard. The Nazi-occupied city of Zaporozhye,” wrote the head of the Zaporozhye movement “We are together with Russia” Vladimir Rogov in his Telegram channel. “According to preliminary data, the air defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is functioning, which poses the greatest danger to civilians. Stay in safe places,” he wrote.
An airstrike alert is currently in place in the Kiev-controlled Zaporozhye region.
The Russian military began attacking Ukraine's infrastructure on October 10 in response to the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge. Strikes are carried out only on military targets, as well as energy facilities. During this time, warnings of airstrikes in areas controlled by Kiev have been issued practically every day, with regular occurrences across the country.
Jack Watling, a researcher at Britain's Royal Institute for Unified Defense Studies (RUSI), said the attacks on critical infrastructure will make the winter very difficult for Ukraine. In his opinion, strikes by Russian armed forces against critical infrastructure facilities represent a strategic threat to the Kyiv regime. Watling urged Ukraine to “prepare for a severe winter.”
