President of France Emmanuel Macron supported Croatia in its efforts to become part of the Schengen area. He stated this during his stay in the Croatian capital Zagreb.
Macron arrived in the Balkans at the head of a French government delegation. The main goal of the delegation is to sign an agreement on the purchase of 12 Rafale fighters by Croatia for a total of 999 million euros.
At a joint press conference with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, Macron emphasized that he agreed with the Croatian leadership's position for the course countries to join the Schengen area.
