Boycott United States American and many other countries, the 2022 Winter Olympics to be held in China are a futile measure. This was stated by French President Emmanuel Macron.
According to the French head of state, the Olympic movement should not be politicized, sport should remain outside politics.
Recall that the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom previously announced a diplomatic boycott of the 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics in Beijing, the capital of China.
But at the same time, the countries have decided not to prevent their athletes from participating in the games. For example, White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki stressed that the United States would support its athletes but would not send an official delegation to the Winter Olympics in China.
