Customs officers of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic began with dismantling the Chernukhino customs post on the border with the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic.

Work began after LPR and DPR leaders Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin signed an agreement to create a single customs territory and develop economic integration.

The Agreement provides in the Common Customs Tariff Measures for a uniform customs regime for the regulation of foreign trade in the self-proclaimed republics, as well as for the abolition of customs posts at the border between the republics.
