Minister Sergei Lavrov explained the phrase “not long to wait” on Russian-American relations
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov explained what he meant by the phrase “not long to wait,” he said in a recent interview about Russia's relations with the United States.
In recent comments to Rossiya-1 television, Lavrov said that Russia and the United States were “in the heat of war,” but pointed to the importance of maintaining relations between Moscow and Washington. According to Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Ministry expects “the Americans to come to their senses.” The minister uttered the sentence “We'll see, it won't be long.”
During the press conference after the meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, Lavrov clarified his statements. “I meant that the truth will prevail anyway,” said the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Lavrov added that the word “not for long” can describe different periods of time, especially “in historical terms.”
