Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov explained in an interview with India Today the basic reasons for conducting a special military operation in Ukraine.
“The real reason is the complacency of many countries after World War II,” Lavrov said, noting that Western countries are led by The United States, began to call themselves victors, and began to push NATO east, despite its promises to the Soviet and Russian leaders.
And when the Warsaw Pact fell apart and the USSR disappeared, the Alliance decided to move the line to the east and did so five times without explanation, Lavrov stressed, adding that the West at the same time began to create advanced attack bases in the former Soviet republics and took advantage of Ukraine u as a springboard against Russian interests.
The head of the Russian State Department believes that this was the desire of the United States and the West to rule the world and show everyone that there will be no multipolarity.
Lavrov also reminded that the West is going to accept Ukraine into NATO.
