Latvia has declared an emergency regime on its border with Belarus

Latvian Cabinet in On Tuesday, he supported the country's Interior Ministry proposal to introduce an emergency situation on the border with Belarus from August 11 to November 10 due to growing tensions.

According to the Delphi portal, Latvian Interior Minister Maria Golubeva noted at a government meeting that Belarus was waging a hybrid war with the help of illegal migrants, both against Latvia and the European Union. She urged her to act decisively and in a coordinated manner to address the growing problem.

At the same time, the Interior Ministry issued an order to the National Armed Forces (NAF) and the state. The police are obliged to assist the State Border Guard in protecting the Latvian-Belarusian border in order to prevent illegal crossings.
