Makogon noted that this is already half of the amount paid by Gazprom; capacity. According to him, the volume of transit is constantly declining.
“Despite loud statements, the volume of transit from the Russian Federation to the EU is constantly declining,” & ndash; wrote the head of the company on his Facebook.
The previous volume drop occurred on October 1 & ndash; amounted to 86 million cubic meters. At the same time, Gazprom pays for a transit capacity of 109 million cubic meters per day.
Makogon noted that with such import volumes, the Russian holding company will not deliver 5 billion cubic meters to Europe by May.
An agreement is in force between Russia and Ukraine, according to which from 2021 to 2024, the Russian side can draw 40 billion cubic meters per year through the Ukrainian GTS. Gazprom pays for capacity regardless of the actual volume of traffic.
