The head of the Ukrainian company Naftogaz Yuri Vitrenko proposed to replace the Nord Stream 2 pipeline with the capacity of the Ukrainian gas transit system.
“The company is ready to transit another 55 billion cubic meters of gas through Ukraine,” he wrote on his Facebook page, stating that it is 151 million cubic meters per day. According to Vitrenko, these volumes correspond to the capacity of Nord Stream 2.
Vitrenko added that the Ukrainian GTS has free capacity for this and under special conditions. According to the head of Naftogaz, transit will cost 50% less than stipulated in the contract with Gazprom.
