Aydos Sarym, a member of the Defense and Security Committee of the Kazakh Mazhilis, said that Kazakhstan is not interested in sending military personnel to the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict zone after Yerevan requested CSTO military assistance
“It is clear that in a situation of conflict with Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan is not interested in sending troops there,” said Sarym in an interview with the “Moscow Speaks” radio station.
He explained that Kazakhstan cannot support Armenia at the expense of relations with Azerbaijan, because they live there very close people with whom there is a huge business turnover and very big plans. According to him, public opinion in Kazakhstan is more inclined to support Azerbaijan.
At the same time, he denied publications that Kazakhstan plans to suspend CSTO membership because of this situation.
< p>” There were no such rumors, let alone discussions, ” Sarym emphasized, stating that Kazakhstan's position does not envisage the cancellation and suspension of CSTO membership.
