Chechen leader Ramzana Kadyrov officially nominated a candidate for the election of the head of the republic. The election commission of the region informed about it. In June, Kadyrov's candidacy for the post of head of republic was nominated by United Russia.
“Today, July 6, in the elections to the head of the Chechen Republic, scheduled for September 19, 2021, the current head of the Chechen Republic, the hero of Russia, Ramzan Akhmatovich Kadyrov,” the election commission said.
The deadline for nominating candidates for the post of Chechnya leader ends on July 8. Documents for registration in the election commission must be submitted no later than 18:00 on the same day.
On June 23, Vladimir Putin called on him during an online meeting with Ramzan Kadyrov to go to the polls for the head of the republic. On the same day, a statement was adopted at the World Congress of Nations in Chechnya calling on the current chief to propose his candidacy.
