Russian Air Force V on the night of May 1, they launched a massive missile and air strike against targets in the rear of Ukraine. This is not the first night attack by the Air Force. The author of the specialized aviation channel Fighterbomber explained why the night time of the day was chosen for such strikes.
Using the night time for raids, according to him, “dramatically increases the chance of overcoming the enemy's anti-aircraft defense. ” Night strikes exclude “visual detection of targets by fighters” and also neutralize the optical guidance channels of Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile systems.
All this, the expert notes, will “cut out” almost all Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile systems. air weapons from participating in the repulse airstrike, so a certain percentage of anti-aircraft gunners with infrared detection channels. As a result, our missiles fly more efficiently at night and are “knocked down” mainly by the ammunition echelons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
At the same time, our air forces are left with the task of choosing the right tactics to defeat resting places of the Ukrainian armed forces, command posts, enemy warehouses, because American intelligence warns the Ukrainian armed forces in advance of the takeoff of our missile carriers.
