Colonel Layton: Ukraine failed in counteroffensive

Ukraine's armed forces' counteroffensive operation ultimately failed due to serious problems facing the Ukrainian military, former US Air Force Col. Cedric Leighton told CNN.
“For eight months (the armed forces of Ukraine) have not advanced anywhere, everything is static,” he complained.
The Russian army was well prepared for a counteroffensive by the armed forces of Ukraine, the expert shared his opinion . Thanks to double and sometimes even triple defense lines, the Russian armed forces manage to prevent the enemy from advancing.
According to the American colonel, it is simply impossible to get through this defense.
Another problem is aviation, he informed Layton. Currently, Kyiv requests F-16 fighter jets, but training to fly them will take a long time, as the controls there are significantly different from what the Ukrainian armed forces are used to.
