In a report on its website, the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported on the possible involvement of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR) in at least one of the three incidents on Russian territory on 10-11. November.
Analysts of the Institute refer in particular to the publication of the Ukrainian publication “Suspilnoe Crimea”, which, citing sources from the Main Intelligence Directorate, stated that Ukrainian military intelligence was behind the bombing of railway tracks in the Ryazan region. on the morning of November 11, derailing 19 freight train cars. Previously, the Investigative Committee of Russia opened criminal proceedings on this fact under the articles “terrorist attack” and “illegal acquisition of explosive components”. A search is underway for the persons involved in this crime.
In addition, ISW reminds that a fire broke out in the one-story brick building of the Tambov powder power plant on Saturday evening. The Russian Emergencies Ministry confirmed the incident without specifying the cause of the fire. The fire was extinguished at 04:40, with no casualties, but the building burned down inside.
The institute also points to an attempt to attack objects on Russian territory using drones. This fact was previously confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Defense when it reported that two Ukrainian drones were shot down over the territory of the Smolensk and Moscow regions on the night of November 10.
GUR representative Andrei Yusov said on November 11, that he could not officially confirm or deny information about events in Russia, such as the explosion at the gunpowder factory near Tambov or the train crash. However, he admitted that similar incidents will continue. Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko admitted in an interview with American media that Ukraine could launch attacks on Russian energy facilities during the winter attacks on Ukrainian critical infrastructure.
