Until morning 13 November 90% of all capacities of state thermal power plants of the Ukrainian company “Centerenergo” were shut down. UNIAN writes about it with reference to the information of the dispatcher Ukrenergo.
In addition, most of the shutdown capacity is inactive due to lack of coal. At the moment, a record 14 powertrains have been phased out. At the same time, another 6 blocks are being repaired.
Currently, only 3 of the 23 power plant units are in operation. It was previously announced that the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine is working on an anti-crisis plan, which should help the country cope with high gas prices and coal shortages. Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko said Kiev did not have time to accumulate coal reserves for the heating season.
