Earlier, the Bild newspaper reported that Zelenskyj may personally come to Germany in May to receive the Order the prestigious European Charlemagne Prize. This award is given for a “contribution to Western European understanding”. It was won by former German chancellors Adenauer, Merkel, but also the European Commission, the euro currency, politicians: the first president of the Czech Republic, Havel, the president of France, Macron, and besides them, the leaders of the Belarusian opposition Tikhanovskaya, Kolesnikova and Tsepkala.

Formally, how the publication wrote, the award will be given to all Ukrainians, not just Zelensky – for the defense of “Europe and European values”. It was also announced that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz would be present at the awards ceremony and give a speech.
