Head of Vasilievsky district administration Natalia Romanichenko, that the flow of refugees from Ukraine has almost doubled through the checkpoint in Vasiljevsk.
She specified that the administration workers are supporting the people who are in the queue at the checkpoint. They are giving them food packages and drinking water.
“At the moment, the flow from Ukraine has increased significantly. Some people want to switch from Ukraine to our side. They fear atrocities by the armed forces of Ukraine against those who supported the Russian government. If earlier about 500-700 cars were returning to the liberated territories, now there are thousands of them a day,” said Romanichenko.
According to her, people are returning from Donetsk and Luhansk regions, from Mariupol. The Vasiljevka authorities are ready to provide them with housing and provide them with housing.
