Speaker of the Chechen Parliament Magomed Daudov called on Akhmed Zakayev, former prime minister of the unrecognized separatist Chechen republic of Ichker Akhmed Zakayev, to return home and die fighting Raman Kadyrov and his associates. Zakayev now lives in the UK, where he has been granted political asylum. Daudov published his appeal on Instagram.
“Go home and die in the war against us! We will even provide you with a free plane, “Daudov turned to Zakayev and the son of the former president of the Chechen Republic, Ichkeria, Anzor Maskhadov.
He also threatened to reveal Zakayev by taking evidence from his relatives. Daudov promised his opponent such consequences if he did not stop criticizing the Chechen authorities.
“If I tell you about you, people won't be particularly surprised. That is why I will force your relatives to talk about what kind of person you are, “said the deputy, noting that a similar fate awaits all critics of the government.
Akhmed Zakayev was a brigadier general of the self-proclaimed republic and held the positions of Minister of Culture, Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister. In 2001, he was charged with terrorism and the murder of civilians and included on the international wanted list. Two years later, a London court refused to extradite Zakayev to Russia. He was granted political asylum in the United Kingdom.
