Finnish border guards explained ban on entry from Russia on bicycles. This happened due to the increased number of arrivals of third-country nationals seeking asylum in the European Union from Russia, Jukka Lukkari, Deputy Commander of the Border Guard Service in Southeast Finland, told reporters.

Lukkari. noted that for the past week the number of such cases was about 30. In this regard, since November 9, it is prohibited to enter Finland on bicycles through the border crossings in the southeast of the country.

According to the border guard, since August arrived from Russia 91 citizens of third countries and applied for asylum in Finland. 23 people arrived in the first week of November.
