The Ukrainian Armed Forces are transferring the personal reserve of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, the 82nd Air Assault Brigade, to the direction of Zaporozhye, the army said in an interview with NEWS.ru expert Anatoliy Matviychuk. From his point of view, the reason for taking the appropriate decision is Kyiv's desire to organize a breakthrough within the counter-offensive operation. However, the expert believes that the brigade is likely to be defeated.
“The brigade is a litmus test of what is happening on the battlefield, it was thrown towards Zaporozhye to organize a breakthrough, and if it is defeated, which I am sure, it will mean a complete fiasco and the end of the counter-offensive of the armed forces of Ukraine,” the analyst shared his opinion.< /p>
According to Matviychuk, the 82nd Airborne Battalion includes contract soldiers who have been trained according to the standards of the Western military-political bloc of NATO. At the same time, the brigade and command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not have a ready system for the development of the offensive. The author of the publication believes that the standards of the North Atlantic Alliance are not applicable in the zone of special military operations, because the military personnel of the Western states are trained, which means complete superiority in the air and artillery. The Armed Forces of Ukraine do not have such an advantage.
According to the spokesperson of the publication, the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not have a ready system for the development of the offensive, there are no successes on the front, with a high probability that the brigade will be defeated. “Even if the brigade is motivated, I do not rule out that there are competent officers there. After the first losses, their morale will begin to decline before our eyes,” Matviychuk summarized.
The transfer of the last large reserve unit of the Ukrainian army towards Zaporizhzhya was previously reported by the Western media. . Forbes columnist David Ex reported that the unit is equipped with foreign equipment, including Stryker armored vehicles as well as British-made Challenger tanks.
