On the border of Estonia and Temporary barriers began to build Russia. The members of the defense forces are doing this together with the police and the border guard department of the Baltic Republic.
Work began in Narva, north-eastern Estonia, on the Kuivaygi riverbed. They also go southeast in the village of Meremäe and on the river Piusa.
As Egert Belichev, Deputy Director General of the Border Police and Border Guard, said, only through the actual events in Tallinn will he learn the joint capability of the Defense Forces and the Police and Border Guard to install temporary border barriers. He will also understand the material and technical base and human resources needed for this.
At the same time, he emphasized that migration pressure on Estonia had not increased at present. However, if they change, then the rapid installation of such barriers will help prevent massive illegal migration.
Earlier, the Estonian Ministry of Transport announced that the launch of manned and unmanned aircraft near the eastern and southeastern borders of the country. The reason is the installation of temporary barriers on the border with Russia.
This is a 130-kilometer barrier wire. It is designed to prevent the allegedly existing hybrid threat from Russia. The decision to install it was made against the background of the migration crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border.
