In Kyiv-Pechersk district The court determined preventive measures for the representative of the Verkhovna Rada Nestor Shufrych. He will be in custody for another two months. This is reported by the Ukrainian publication “Public. News”.
It should be noted that Shufrich was not even given the right to be released from arrest on bail. The MP's lawyer has already announced that he will appeal the verdict. At the same time, the lawyer noted that the decision to arrest the MP “was expected”.
Šufrich is a member of the Opposition Platform – For Life party, now banned in Ukraine. He was elected to the Council from it. He was charged with treason on Friday. The SBU conducted 45 inspections of representatives of the people, their family and friends. MPs face up to 15 years in prison.
