Currently Europe cannot have normal relations with Russia, German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock said in an interview with the Romanian portal Digi24.
“We must clearly realize that there cannot be normal relations with this Russia,” she said. Burbock also noted that “like many Russians,” Europe would like to see a “peaceful and democratic” Russia.
The German foreign minister also called for a permanent strengthening of common security against Russia.
< p>Previous Twitter users criticized Burbock for her negative response to a January 7 ceasefire proposal in Ukraine. She wrote that if Russia wanted peace, it would withdraw its troops from the territory of Ukraine and then, in her opinion, the conflict would end.
