The German regulator had not previously confirmed the launch of the pipeline in March 2021. The certification process is currently suspended. The Russian side was asked to establish a subsidiary of the Swiss project operator Nord Stream 2 AG and transfer all ownership rights in Germany to it.
Meanwhile, Steffen Kotrets, a member of the Bundestag of the Alternative Party for Germany, noted that the launch of Nord Stream 2 was possible in April-May 2022.
