US President Joe Biden has signed a law to increase government debt limits.
The White House Press Service has issued an emergency statement saying the document was signed by the US president as a law. The US sovereign debt limit will increase by $ 2.5 trillion to $ 31.4 trillion.
Recall that earlier lawmakers approved a short-term increase in the government debt limit of $ 480 billion to prevent insolvency. This measure was valid until 3 December. However, without the signing of a law on new limits in the United States on December 21, there could be a delay. On the eve of the US House of Representatives, it supported raising the public debt limit after approval by the Senate.
